17 (hard 17)
Hand with an ace in the value of 1.
Example: As-6-10 is a rigid 17

17 flexible (soft 17)
Hand with an Ace and a 6, which may be worth 7 (ie 1 +6) or 17 (or 11 6).

Insurance (insurance)
It’s an option. Typically, with half the player’s initial bet, the house offers player the opportunity to buy insurance when the dealer’s first card is Ace.
